En una pequeña pintura titulada “La fueza de los pentáculos o la Venus celeste, la Madre de los Mundos”, Cattiaux resume el sentido profundo de la magia. El cuadro representa a una mujer esférica de color rojizo, sugiriendo el movimiento cíclico del fuego universal, en medio de la cual se hallan unos caracteres mágicos que significan Venus. En la parte superior de la imagen y con los mismos caracteres, está escrito Sol, en la parte inferior está escrito Saturno, a su derecha, Luna y a su izquierda, Mercurio ; en los cuatro extremos de la pintura se encuentran las figuras de los cuatro elementos, arriba el agua y el aire, abajo la tierra y el fuego. Se puede deducir que la mujer es la Quintaesencia, llamada Madre de los mundos o Venus Celeste, que anima las metamorfosis de los cuatro elementos y, con ellos, a toda la creación. Es una representación del Alma del mundo, causa del movimiento de la gran fábrica de la creación; la magia consiste en ponerse en comunicación con ella. Pudiera ser por este motivo, que Cattiaux titulase la pintura, “La fueza de los pentáculos…”, como queriendo expresar que es ella, la Quintaesencia, la que da todo el poder a los pentáculos, la figura mágica por antonomasia. To make visible the divine unity hidden beneath the diversity of the world is the work of nature. To incorporate the highest spirit into the basest body and bring them to absolute perfection is the work of art .

Inspiration without action is powerless, and action without inspiration is blind. The two together make the perfection of the human work. Art without nature is impotent, and nature without art is blind. The two united make the perfection of the divine work.

The arts of men may well distract us and console us here below. Only the ART of God can deliver us from the putrefying infamy of deadly sin.

One needs the gift of genius to practice the fine arts in this world. And one has to have an angelic gift to pray and praise the Lord of heaven and earth. But one has to have a divine gift to practice the great ART of the Almighty here below.

There is only one true ART , that which manifests the free spirit, which is the light of the Universe. There is only one true science, that which fixes this divine light in the repose of God.
